ANAHITA ‘FOUR SEASONS’ GOLF COURSE

Set between land and sea, Ernie Els’ challenging golf course is a 6,828-meter, 18-hole, par-72 championship course with large fairways and five sets of tees. Built to USGA standards and managed by Four Seasons at Anahita, it is the first of its kind in Mauritius. Six stunning ocean front holes culminate in a final shot that is among the most spectacular in the world. Carefully woven into the tropical sanctuary, the course is set against lush mountains and fringed by a vast crystal-clear lagoon.

Ernie Els is one of the world’s best golfers holding more than 50 victories worldwide including three Major Championship titles. Incorporating the insight gained from his many years on the PGA Tours world’s top golf courses, he has created at Anahita a true masterpiece featuring big, undulating greens allowing breathing while playing approach shots. The very large fairways allow golfers to tee off with confidence.

Hollow Tining – this maintenance is usually done in early September. There is disruption to the course for 1 to 5 days. The course resumes its normal playability in approximately 14 days.

Tee times – available daily from 7:30 am to 3 pm. Pre-book via the apartment concierge for guest rate. Golf day package includes green fee, golf cart and practice balls.

Anahita Golf Academy

The Four Seasons Golf Academy specialises in improving the game of guests of all levels of ability, from complete beginners to scratch players. Whether your aim is to learn the game, lower your handicap or win a club championship, the Golf Academy can help you with your goals. Dedicated to enhancing the learning experience for each guest, the Golf Academy takes a holistic approach. Programs cover all aspects of the game, including the full swing, the short game, course management, practice techniques, mental training, golf fitness and property fitted equipment. One hour of golf initiation is also offered to Resort’s guests at 11 am on most days.

ILE AUX CERFS GOLF COURSE

A ten minute shuttle boat ride across the lagoon from the Anahita Resort is the 18-hole Ile aux Cerfs golf course designed by Bernhard Langer. World renowned, this par 72 championship golf course has natural undulating topography, volcanic rock outcrops, lakes and gullies, set amongst tropical trees and plants. All the 18 holes have views of the ocean.

Bernhard Langer is one of Europe’s all-time greats. His playing triumphs include Majors at the US Masters, Augusta, where he has twice been a winner of the Green Jacket. He was non-playing captain of the victorious European Team at the 2004 Ryder Cup at Oakland Hills and has won a total of three PGA Tour events and 58 international titles. In 2002, he was honoured with his induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame.

Hollow Tining – this maintenance is usually done in June and September over 2 days; the front 9 holes on the first day and the back 9 holes on the second day. Golfers who wish to play 18 holes may be required to play the same 9 holes twice. The course resumes its normal playability about 3 to 4 weeks after the work.
